Etowah Eagles Varsity took Thursday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 5-4 walk-off victory over West Forsyth. The game was tied at four with Etowah Eagles Varsity batting in the bottom of the seventh when Jaycee Wallace doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. West Forsyth scored four runs in the second inning, but Etowah Eagles Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for West Forsyth came thanks to a single by Kelsey Shell, an error on a ball put in play by Jenna Harris, and a double by Ashley Schell. West Forsyth got things moving in the second inning. In the bottom of the third inning, Etowah Eagles Varsity tied things up at four. Ari Medina doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. Etowah Eagles Varsity put up three runs in the third inning. Hailey Schultz and Medina all drove in runs in the frame. Kinsey Norton was in the pitcher’s circle for Etowah Eagles Varsity. She allowed seven hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking zero. Maria Luce led things off in the circle for West Forsyth. She allowed five hits and one run over two innings, striking out one and walking zero. Avery Wassikchak and Madison Michael entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and one inning respectively. Etowah Eagles Varsity tallied 13 hits. Wallace, Norton, and Medina all managed multiple hits for Etowah Eagles Varsity. Wallace went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Etowah Eagles Varsity in hits.
