Etowah Eagles Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-1 loss to Buford on Saturday. Buford took the lead on a passed ball in the first inning. The Etowah Eagles Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Buford, giving up nine runs. Buford got things started in the first inning. Abbi Perkins hit a line drive that was caught, scoring one run. Buford scored five runs in the fifth inning. Perkins, Katie Perkins, Hannah Morgan, and Mariah Wicker powered the big inning with RBIs. Kinsey Norton led things off in the circle for Etowah Eagles Varsity. She went four and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs on 12 hits, striking out two and walking one. Ari Medina, Jaycee Wallace, and Kendall Parks all had one hit to lead Etowah Eagles Varsity. Buford racked up 12 hits in the game. Morgan, Wicker, Perkins, and She Bayreuther each collected multiple hits for Buford. Buford didn’t commit a single error in the field. Anabel Adams had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
