Eagles News · October Athletes of the Month–Molly Frost, Sydney Bray, Dru Moore, Jackson Manns

Coach Carter would like to nominate Molly Frost for Athlete of the Month for softball. She got her first Varsity starts at the most stressful and important time of the season with playoffs. She played right field in all playoff games and helped us to a 3rd place finish in the state. She hit .368 for the playoffs and had big hits at important times with only one strikeout in the playoffs. She played a solid right field and was a huge part of our success!

Sydney Bray is our freshman setter. She is a big reason for the success of our Volleyball team and our run into the semifinals.  She has currently been voted as 1st team All-Area/Region and has totaled 668 assists, a 93% serve percentage, 32 aces, and 287 kills.  Great job Sydney!

Dru (Arthur) Moore, finished 12th overall at County Championship with a 30 second PR of 17:28, then ran a team season best time (and new PR) of 17:17 at Area Championship as a freshman. Now owns the 6th fastest time ever by a Freshman in Etowah history. Is currently ranked 30th in the whole state for all freshman and 7th for all freshman in 7A, all in his first ever year or competitive running.

Jackson has been a great leader for our football team. He serves as one of our four captains and continues to produce at a high level even when opposing teams put their best defender on him. Jackson leads our team in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. Jackson’s highlight for the season came during our game versus Cherokee, when he caught a 13 yards touchdown, in OT, to win the game!!
