Eagles News · August Athletes of the Month–Paige Patterson and Remi Adams

Catcher Paige Patterson (Senior) has made a tremendous impact on our Softball team  since she arrived at Etowah in last September. She has become a leader on the team and so far has 6 homeruns on the season. She hit a walk off homerun against Cherokee and hit for the cycle last night in two wins against Woodstock.  She is an enormous competitor and a natural leader on the field and in the classroom.

Running Back Remington Adams made the most of his first career varsity start in the Etowah’s 37-10 victory over River Ridge.  The sophomore exploded for a 66 yard touchdown run on the Eagles first offensive play of the season.  Remi tallied 119 yards on 9 carries with 1 TD rushing for an average of a little over 13 yards a carry.  The explosive athlete showed some burst on Etowah’s kick return team as well when he returned the opening kickoff of the 2nd half 88 yards for a touchdown to help put Etowah up 21-10.  Remi finished with 208 all-purpose yards and 2 touchdowns on the night.  You can tell Remi loves football and his teammates by the way he prepares and practices throughout the week.  Look for him to have a big sophomore season for the Eagles!
